The City of Bothell Fire Department is currently building a list of applicant profiles from National Testing Network (NTN) to create an active eligibility list. The City anticipates several vacancies needing to be filled in January 2026. To be considered for this round of hiring, all testing and application submissions must be completed by 5:00PM PST, July 11, 2025.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
All testing and City of Bothell's online application must be completed by July 11, 2025, at 5:00 pm.
Please note: Candidates must provide all the following or they will be disqualified from the process.
Go to National Testing Network and choose Bothell Fire Department under firefighter jobs.
Complete FireTEAM testing through National Testing Network within the previous year (between July 30, 2024, and July 31, 2025).
Complete a valid CPAT test within the previous year (between July 30, 2024, and July 31, 2025). Verifiable CPAT certifications will be accepted from NTN or a licensed testing facility.
Complete the City's online application, which can be found on the City of Bothell Website under the Jobs icon. Click on the green APPLY button on the upper, right hand corner of the page.
If you are a Veteran requesting Veteran's preference, please attach to your City application the Veteran's Scoring Criteria Form and 'Form DD214' or 'NGB 22.'
Testing Fee Waiver: Bothell Fire Department participates in NTN's fee waiver program to help our applicants with a financial need to afford testing fees. To find out more and to apply, visit NTN's FAQ page on their website.
Salary Information: 2025 rates: $7,525.03 per month (0-12 months)

Department Overview: The City of Bothell Fire Department provides professional fire, emergency medical, hazmat, technical rescue and fire preventions services to the City of Bothell and within Snohomish County Fire District #10. Fire Chief Matt Cowan leads the department from three fully staffed fire stations with shift personnel working a four-platoon schedule. The Department not only responds to fire, EMS and rescue emergencies but also provides a full range of non-emergency services including Fire Marshal/fire prevention, public education, and professional training.
City Information: The City of Bothell is located in two Counties: King and Snohomish. We are in the midst of a downtown revitalization program. Bothell is located approximately 12 miles northeast of Seattle. The City serves residents through a council committed to the open and responsive government. City employees are committed to providing the highest quality Municipal services.
Population: The City of Bothell and Snohomish County Fire District #10 population is just over 55,000 and daytime population can exceed 80,000.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older by certification date of eligibility list.
Educational Requirement: Candidates must have a high school diploma or have passed an equivalency test (GED)
Driver's License: Upon employment, and while employed, must hold and continuously maintain, a valid Washington State Driver's License.
Physical and Medical Requirements:
Ability to meet the medical and physical requirements as specified in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1582.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, psychological examination, medical examination and drug screen test.
All applicants shall be a citizen of the United States of America, a lawful permanent resident, or a deferred action for childhood arrivals recipient (DACA), who can read and write the English language.
