Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer at John Crane, you will oversee the installation and maintenance of John Crane Sense® systems, ensuring optimal performance through hands-on support and technical troubleshooting. The Field Service Engineer will work closely with customers both remotely and onsite, provide system expertise, and deliver tailored recommendations to enhance reliability.

  • Responsible for supervising and assisting John Crane Sense® installations and ongoing project maintenance.
  • Provide recommendations to improve product performance and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to customers including delivering John Crane Sense® system expertise and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting of John Crane Sense® installations.
  • Write and issue project proposals, installation reports, including providing presentations to support.
  • Complete site surveys at customer sites.
  • Work with site and contract services to complete installations.
  • Support operations with inventory management, supplier management, equipment testing, and planning.
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree from ABET accredited university required
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience.
  • Must have prior experience with rotating machinery (pumps and/or compressors)
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
  • Available to travel 75% of time
  • Experience with electrical or instrumentation systems
  • Direct customer service experience
  • Effective communication and writing skills
  • Experience in cross functional roles such as field service, operations, instrumentations, or production.
  • Experience working in a diverse environment and a global company is preferred.
